Note to current Rx owners:

Only customers currently with Rx cabinets will still be able to order matching Rx series cabinets for a limited time.

End of the line for the Rx series, CS and RxL series on hold.

As of October 31, 2007 we will no longer take orders for the Rx series of cabinets. These are the first products ever produced by Dr. Bass and have been a popular product with bassist's worldwide, but it is time for a change. At the same time we are putting our CS and RxL series on hold.

We are taking this action for many reasons. The most important reason being the fact that the only complaint we have here at Dr. Bass is the time it takes to get a cabinet. By focusing on only one line of cabinets we will be able to produce these cabinets in a more timely fashion as it will standardize our manufacturing process.

You see, most manufacturers have their cabinets built by an outside company to keep up with the demand, but here at Dr. Bass all of our products are handcrafted for each customer to suit your needs. If we go to an outside manufacturer to build our cabinets, we will have to cut out the one feature that makes getting a Dr. Bass cabinet special, and that is personalizing the cabinet with a certain type of driver, colored grill, airheads, etc. Or a totally custom design. We would also be cutting our throats because many of our designs come from you, our loyal customers.

Thanks for all of the faith and loyalty you have shown us in our first 5 years, and we are looking forward to our next 5+ years.

Thanks,

Marc J. Serio

"New product alert"

112LF/1580/2460D

1260 slant front

Manhattan Special

By your request, we are now offering our best selling cabinet, the 2460, in a 17.5" depth, we have also retuned the cabinet to 37Hz. While the mids and highs stay as clear and articulate as ever, the new 2460D gives you a "darker and deeper" bottom end, retaining the signature tight low mids that has made this cabinet a favorite of players world wide. Special props to Tom Mitchell and Dennis Cottone for their suggestions, and support in this design.

1260 Slant

Not long ago we emailed a picture of a 1260 slant to lbwdog on Talkbass, and he posted it, (thanks alot Eric), next thing we knew, we had 12 orders for them. As a result, we will be making the 1260 Slant-front available as one of our standard cabinets very soon. This design was suggested by D. Grant, one of our Aussie players, with feet on the back and all controls and inputs on the side, so he could place the cab by his mike stand as a monitor with his DRB 115 behind him. (Keep your eyes peeled for a new 210-2060 slant)

112LF

This is our new 112LF. This cabinet was designed to be paired up with any of our cabinets, especially the 12" cabinets. We constantly get requests for smaller lighter cabs with larger tone. Well the 112LF is the answer. Pair this up with a 1260 or a 112 and it will set you free.

1580

Since we are putting our CS series on hold, which means no more CS 115's, we decided to build the 1580. Which is a 15" woofer 8" mid and horn. So when we had a request for a cab along the lines of the CS 115  only lighter, we first thought 15, 6.5, and a horn. After repeated phone calls, and emails, with the customer who was inquiring, we settled on the 8" mid which provides a smoother transition between the 15" woofer and the mid range, and boy did it work. In fact the customer, (here's to you Brumac), who purchased the prototype (which I was going to keep, and at least get pics of), called the day he got the cab and his only comment was "this cab is perfect". And I have to give a special shout out to Matt Morgan for the suggestion of using the 8 instead of the 6.5 mid.

Manahattan Special

Prepare to be dazzled! So, you think you have everything, well think again. Break out the Pepto, here comes that G.A.S. again! This awesome little stack was designed for, and made it's debut at Bassplayer Live 07' in NYC. The 1060 slant is loaded with a Beyma 10G40 woofer, Beyma 6G40/ND mid, and the incomparable Beyma CP-22 tweeter. In the 110LF is another Beyma 10G40. M. Landy of Atlantic records played this rig and tuned a Fodera 6-string down to F# and it didn't flinch! He purchased it on the spot. This custom rig is available on a limited basis for $1699.00 including the insured shipping. Studio quality sound that fits in your hatchback.
